Dodd To Take Federal Matching Funds
Chris Dodd just let his supporters know that his campaign is opting in for matching funds, with these sentences buried in a fundraising email that just went out to supporters:
We have decided to take matching funds -- your $25 contribution will mean $50 in the campaign coffers today.Double down, right now!
Which means that John Edwards will no longer be the only candidate facing matching funds questions.

Dodd isn't even on the ballot in New York for the 2/5 primary, can't raise money, is stuck at 1%, and has resorted to running sexist "I wasn't First Lady" ads.
And now he's added the shackles of public financing to make himself unviable if he somehow did get the nomination.
Take what's left of your dignity and go home, Chris.

Funds are the least of Chris Dodd's problems.

What exactly is this guy playing at. He doesn't honestly believe that he is about to catch fire. He has no particularly distinctive qualities or charisma. I guess the ego of a politican knows no bounds...

Dodd is a much stronger candidate than he's given credit for and would probably be tougher than Obama or Edwards. It's a shame that he didn't at least get some more exposure. Not that I'd vote for him over Richardson or Biden, but he deserved more of a voice than he got. I think liberal blogs capitulated the MSM's crowning of this contest as Clinton v. Obama and poor little Edwards. So it goes.

You know, I've been thinking about Dodd lately - and I've come to the conclusion that he's a pretty decent...
Senator.
He should realize that he isn't going any further and take advantage of his solid position in the Senate and in CT by becoming one of the leaders on progressive issues.
