Video Of Robertson Agreeing That America "Deserved" 9/11

Here's some video of Pat Robertson agreeing that America "deserved" 9/11:

Note that Robertson says here that he "concurs" that abortionists and other secular heretics are to blame for the disaster. Rudy still claims that a woman should have the right to choose an abortion. So how hard will he be pressed to say whether he agrees with Robertson's views?

On that score, Steve Benen has a good rundown of some other of Robertson's greatest hits.

Look, I know it seems weird that Robertson -- who blamed 9/11 on liberalism -- would support a candidate who still has a few liberal ideas, but what you fail to understand is that 9/11 CHANGED EVERYTHING.

Coupla thoughts ...

1. If God caused the WTC attacks in a fit of pique against sinful America, as Rudy's new bud apparently believes, then why did Rudy waste all that time studying radical Islam to find the root cause for terrorism and, subsequently, take the lead in trying to wipe it out using secular means? Why not just beseech The Big Sky Buddy to smite the bastards?

2. How is Pat Robertson all that different from Fred Phelps?

3. That Rudy polls above an unnamed rodeo clown and any six used car salesmen you care to choose is an utter mystery to me.

So the moral of the story seems to be that if god has turned his back on a godless nation, you turn to the devil to get..... now what DO you get?

Ok, let's see if we can follow this line of reasoning.

1. Rudy was mayor.
2. God intended to smite America.
3. Rudy would take credit for everything and anything that happened (or didn't quite happen) while he was mayor.
4. God knew this and used Rudy's time as mayor to smite America.
5. Thus, Rudy helped God.
6. Now God is helping Rudy, by having the religious right, or some of them, ordain.... er endorse him.

Remind me again why God didn't protect the good ole U.S. of A. at Pearl Harbor?

Guiliani is a hard-nosed politician who knows where the crucial voters are, and when to pander to those voters. He needs to make sure that the evangelical voters don't flock to Thompson, so Guiliani will seek to get those voters during primary season. If he gets the nomination, he will tack back to the center, knowing that making himself over to be attractive to independents is more important than disappointing the evangelicals. Guiliani has mastered the political makeover strategy, in such a way that he gets a pass from the media on it.

For a complete rundown on what this little weasel Robertson is really all about, see the 1988 album by Frank Zappa called "Broadway the Hard Way."The song on the album that accurately describes Pat is called "Jesus Thinks You`re a Jerk."It`s a unique political treat.
