Reid Ready To Force Weekend Senate Showdown On Iraq
Get ready for another filibuster showdown. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said at a press conference today that he is ready to keep the Senate in session through the weekend in a new effort to force votes on the new $50 billion stop-gap spending bill for Iraq, which ties funding to a drawdown of troops.
"We'll either do it the easy way or the hard way. It's up to the Republicans," Reid said at a press conference today, according to Roll Call. "We will have a Sunday vote scheduled ... If they want to give us consent to have a vote earlier, we'll do that. But if they don't, we're not only going to be here, we're going to be here working."

I'll believe it when I see it, Harry!
Yawn. Wake me when the Dem "leadership" rolls over and dies again.

If it's anything like the last such humiliating display from Reid and the Senate Capitulatocrats I think I'll not spend much energy anticipating the inevitable result where the spineless, ineffectual wusses calling themselves Democratic Senator shrug their shoulders, give up and go home saying their "showdown" was useless in the face of the invincible Republicans.

Sadly, he then glanced down at himself and at the majority of his colleagues, and realized that they don't have enough have balls to do anything.
Reid and Pelosi--WHAT A TEAM
They are going to put the Democratic majority in the can for 08.
Unlike most media complainers, I do understand that the Democratic majority is razor thin in both houses and cannot possibly beat back a veto as long as the spineless Republicans keep marching in lockstep with the idiot in the whitehouse
BUT they really need to have a GUTCHECK!!!
Air America and the net-izens have been beating on Congress and Senate folk like crazy for the last three weeks . . . Is this cause and effect OR are they trying to break our collective spirit by dashing all our hopes with a faint attempt at doing the correct thing?

Remember, we're going to be dealing with the "the Dems lost the war in Iraq" myth for decades to come.
Just a thought. I'm really not sure how the Dems should procede - but I don't share the contempt for the pols who can see next act coming.

Don't count on Pelosi, either.
In fact, watch the Republicans play poker better than the Democrats.
You don't have to be a blind conservative not to see it, just an ignorant one to deny it.
