Poll: GOP Race In South Carolina A Tie, Edwards Falling Behind With Dems

A new poll in South Carolina by Winthrop University shows a three-way statistical tie in the Republican primary, while Hillary Clinton has a significant lead for the Democrats — and John Edwards is in a distant third.

On the Republican side, Fred Thompson led with 17.9% of respondents, followed by Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani at 16.5% each. John McCain had 9.2%, and Mike Huckabee 5.4%.

Among Democrats, Hillary Clinton has a solid 33% of respondents, with Barack Obama at 22.7%. The state's native son John Edwards is way behind, with only 9.6%

On the Democratic side, I noticed that 30% (29.6%) are undecided. Shouldn't that be a relevant statistic in your summary?

No nasty comments from me on Edwards today. Yesterday I was chastened by his dewy-eyed supporters for being so negative about him on the thread talking about his "sincere friend of the working man" ad running in Iowa.

Today, I'll just let his showing among Southern Dems in his native state, and in the region that knows him best, say it all for me.

The Bloomberg/Perot strategy works in both primary and general elections.

John Edwards' 'Bumper Sticker' Complaint Not So Off the Mark, New Memo Shows

“As today's Washington Post reveals, John Edwards was right all along that the War on Terror is a bumper sticker Republicans use to intimidate their opponents and squelch debate. As we've now learned, Bush's former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was more interested in coming up with new ‘bumper sticker’ slogans then an actual strategy to end the war," Edwards spokesman Chris Kofinis said in a prepared statement e-mailed to FOXNews.com

You never know about South Carolina. I think voters have not made up their minds yet. I don't think african americans are convinced on one candidate yet. JRE is the poor and middle class' candidate no matter what the MSM says. He is the best speaker and debater. Much better than Obama. Obama will get killed by the repugs in debates. I hope democrats will start realizing this. Voters are starting to recognize this.

I can't wait to watch Hillary shred Rudy, Mitt, or John in the debates next fall.

You?

rssai, if you think for a minute that Hillary will shred Mitt Romney in a debate, you are in for a huge surprise. I'll go on record right now and predict that Mitt will be the next President of the United States.

Dems should be only too happy if Romney is the repub nominee.
