Obama Camp Announces Oprah Winfrey Events
Hillary Clinton might have Bill campaigning for her, but the Barack Obama campaign is set to bring out some serious firepower of their own. Oprah Winfrey will be kicking off a three-state tour for her candidate in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, beginning December 8 in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
This is the first time that Winfrey has taken to the campaign trail, and really the first cycle in which she's gotten involved at all for a candidate. Winfrey already hosted a big-money fundraiser for Obama earlier this year, and now the question is whether her presence on the campaign trail can sway any women voters away from Hillary and towards Obama.

Maybe they'll call it, "O and O."

Will there be any conflict with the Clinton campaign over who gets to say "You go girl" more in Iowa?

Meanwhile, back at Hillary '08's instant response unit:
"'It is indeed a shame that Senator Obama has abandoned the politics of hope for, er, uhh, something . . .' no, wait. Okay, got it, 'Senator Obama cannot save his flagging campaign by touting the support of a celebrity to whom a significant portion of the people in Senator Clinton's most critical demographic segment are devoted. . .' umm, no, that doesn't work. Okay, how about 'the single working mothers of this country with an associates degree or less are looking for a candidate who understands the problems they face every day and Senator Clinton has shown she has the Strength and Experience to say whatever she has to to get their support . . .' No, dammit, that's not it! Think people, think!"

That double O, when exponential, could turn into Oxygen to give Obama even more lift in Iowa as he richly deserves. Women will soon figure out that Billary is ONLY about billary and when it counts - it's power first, and people second - they fooled us once so shame on them, but fooling us twice is NOT my choice. Power BACK to the people.

It isn't the huge rock concert crowds. It isn't the celebrity endorsements. It isn't the inspiring speeches given to thousands. I am completely turned off by politician hype with no substance. This one speech given to a relatively modest audience a while back got me to support Obama. It is not full of catchy slogans or rhetoric, just an honest view of how he and America sees itself. Give it a look:

Dear Civicforum and others,
I'm interested in your comments regarding Billary - how have they fooled us once? I suspect I don't track politics as closely as other posters, but, from a personal standpoint, I was more than satisfied with Bill Clinton's presidency. Also, would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a unbiased source for voting the democratic candidates' voting records, stances on issues, etc.? I've been toggling between websites but I'm sure someone has done this work already. Thanks for the information.

Elixer,
Here's a source for comparing voting records of Clinton and Obama. I recommend first focusing on the tables.

So Obama needs a rock star and he needs to get a woman to take votes away from women and squeeze Clinton.
It may or may not help him, but a political or Union endorsement would have been less disappointing than what is fairly sleazy. Since endorsing Obama on her show Oprah vowed not to enter in the campaign at all. She clearly said that while she backed Obama, she would not interfere in the selection/campaign process, and that if Hillary won she would certainly vote for her.
So Oprah is going back on her word, and it may not even matter but it does lend a side show aspect to Obama's shtick.

They say, more than male chauvinism preventing a woman from reaching the top, it is another woman's backstabbing that prevents her.
Winfrey is an absolute fraud.
All those fake tears she shed over the years for women's causes makes me want to throw-up now!
