New Huckabee Ad: Mike Is A "Christian Leader"
Mike Huckabee's new TV ad, set to begin airing today in Iowa, lacks a crucial element from his last one — namely Chuck Norris — but it does have a heavy focus on his conservative stances and Christian faith, even going so far as to call him a "Christian Leader" in the text:
"Faith doesn't just influence me, it really defines me," Huckabee says. "I don't have to wake up everyday wondering, 'What do I need to believe?'" It's a pitch that could go a long way in winning some more of the evangelical voters that Huckabee will need in order to win Iowa.

I used to think that Mike Huckabee might be the one (or maybe two, if one counts McCain) half-way sane and decent candidates in the Republican field, but this is down-right scary and it shows that Huckabee is just as willing to pander as the next guy. However, for the sake of an entertaining horse race on the other side, it might be nice to see him pull off Iowa, especially after all the money that Romney has sunk into that place.

Jokes aside, Huckabee has become a real contender for the GOP nomination... He is now ranked third (ahead of Thompson and McCain) on this new detailed assessment of the Republican race.

Considering that 40% of republicans in Iowa (one of the more religious states in the country) considering themselves "conservative christians" and about half of them are going for the "Christian Leader" -- based on relative population of Iowa and Christian Conservatives around the nation, this would indicate that roughly 5% of the American populace is interested in a Big Government Quasi-Theocracy. This fraud doesn't stand a chance in November and I'd be shocked to see him win the nomination.
