Netroots Raise $100,000 In A Week For Donna Edwards

This really is a feat: Open Left, the liberal blog that's leading the charge on behalf of netroots heroine Donna Edwards' spirited primary challenge to Dem incumbent Al Wynn in Maryland's 4th district, has just sent out a release claiming that the netroots raised $100,000 for Edwards in just this week.

Wynn, who's been targeted by the bloggers in part over his vote for the Iraq War, has the backing of Nancy Pelosi and the Dem Congressional leadership. But Wynn -- who barely survived a challenge from Edwards in 2006, is getting targeted even more aggressively by the netroots this time around, suggesting the possibility of a netroots-fueled upset over the Dem leadership.

This is great.

Not just more Dems but BETTER Dems.

Actually, it was $100K. But thanks for the mention anyway!

jesus, sorry. misread the press release. will change

A primary challenge couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. They think they own these seats.

The leadership is dumb to waste their time trying to help these terrible Dems in safe seats. Go help someone in a marginal seat.

Great. Now if the netroots could get rid of Rahm Emanuel and Steny Hoyer. . . .

Any word on how much $$$$ Pelosi raised for Wynn?

And I second MW's comment: let's get rid of Steney & Rahm.

Not only should we send Steney Hoyer and Rahm Emanuel to the unemployment offices, we need to make sure they are in line behind Bob Shrum and James Carville!

Great news! Simply having a "D" behind your name isn't good enough. Apparently the DNC has us confused with Republicans- BIG MISTAKE. We actually pay attention to deeds, not words. Pelosi, Hoyer, Emanuel and Reid are in for a rude awakening.

To support other grass roots Dems got to dailykos.com and firedoglake.com.

Go Donna. After his endorsement for gambling in Maryland, I will not vote for Wynn again.

Well, we can't have anybody who deviates from the hyperleft orthodoxy, can we?

I'm a moderate, and it seems to me that the nutjob left is trying to impose the same rigorous lockstep discipline that they faulted the unthinking Right for doing.

If we successfully field liberal Democrats over conservative Democrats in conservative districts, we hand the seat to the Republicans. That's good thinkin'.

Not every conservative idea is a bad one, people, and it's good to have divergent views within a party. That's what makes Democrats different from Republicans, or so I thought.

Besides, I'd rather have a conservative Democrat and ensure the Democrats have a majority, than have all liberal Democrats and go back to being the minority.

Go after Pelosi, Feinstein,Lieberman,Schumer and every Democrat who has facilitated the Republicans and Bush since Nov.07

@vedette: I began to reply to your comment but it ended up as a diary.

Good news, but as recent events indicate, it's Senate DINOs like Feinstein that we REALLY need to put out to pasture. It is worth noting that around the world and throughout history, collaborators have been hated more than the enemies they collaborated with...
