Rudy's Man Podhoretz Details His Plans For Attacking Iran
Yesterday we noted that top Rudy foreign policy adviser and neocon death star overloard Norman Podhoretz was spending his spare time briefing Giuliani on the necessity for the commencement of World War IV.
Well, now Podhoretz has done himself one better, revealing in that same interview with The New York Observer that he's got plans for exactly how war with Iran should be carried out:
"The forces are in place and all you have to say is 'go.' said Podhoretz, a father of neoconservatism and a senior advisor to Rudy Giuliani. "You could wake up tomorrow morning" and it could be done. After acknowledging that he was not a military man, Podhoretz offered that the attack should be carried out by air, with no commitment of ground troops, and the sooner the better...
He said that bombers could be dispatched from two nearby aircraft carriers or missiles could be launched from submarines to take out the roughly 18 known above-ground nuclear facilities.
"We could get all the above grounds ones," he said, adding his opinion that "there is no technical problem about getting them out."
As for the small issue of Iran's military response, Podhoretz observed that it could be mitigated with a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which is between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.
And thus concludes today's preview of World War IV.

This guy is a raving lunatic. I'm not sure of the percentage, but I think that somewhere between 50% and 2/3's of the world's oil supply passes through the Straits of Hormuz. The Iranians could blockade the strait and the world economy would collapse. Also, the supply line for our troops stuck in Iraq go through the strait and finally the 160000 troops in Iraq would be sitting ducks for the iranians. The most dangerous thing about these nut jobs is that they have no common sense.
By the way mrs. bill, thanks for voting on that resolution to help the king justify launching another war against iran. Really appreciate that smart move. That vote truly evidences leadership and good judgment. Just the type of good judgment that I want exhibited in the commander in chief. NOT.

I guess once you've had an overload of press coverage of Darth Podhoretz, he can start to seem like an "overloard" but you might want to go easy on the neologisms and just call it a typo and fix it.
And, yes, calling the man "batshit" insane is an insult to both bats and shit. Guano is useful after enough time passes. Podhoretz, never.

Does shock and awe apply to this new Middle East war when the attacks are only by air? Are we allowed to use that phrase again here if we don't commit ground forces? Should we amend it to shock and air awe? Should it be done only at night so we get that full flare effect on CNN's coverage? Should we claim preemptively that only military targets and personnel were killed in the attacks we haven't yet engaged in? Why the whole thing practically writes itself.

Where, oh, where is the Fleet? Given nPod's military expertise bombing Iran is not imminent. Or maybe nPod should check out the type of bombs necessary to effectively carry out his plans and the type of aircraft needed to deliver that payload. He might want to rethink in terms of Balad and Bagram. But then he is nPod, his buddy is Rudy, and Darth I is meditating.

Barry Goldwater lost the election in 1964 for advocating that we bomb North Viet Nam back to the stone age.
So Lyndon Johnson won the election and proceeded to bomb North Viet Nam back to the stone age, dropping napalm on the villagers. Then Nixon won in 1968 with his secret plan to end the war, and proceeded to bomb Cambodia and Laos back to the Stone Age. The Laotians hid out in caves and survived the bombing. Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge came to power in Cambodia and killed millions of Cambodians.
Finally Congress, with the help of a filibuster by Mike Gravel of Alaska, cut off funding for the war.
In those days some members of Congress had political courage. Today we have Harry Reid, Dianne Feinstein, Ben Nelson, Joe Lieberman, Jay Rockefeller, Steny Hoyer, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama . . . History will not treat them well.

Just the visuals of President "nancy boy" Rudy in some lacy orange frock and heels discussing Submarines and aircraft carriers with a nutbag like Podhoertz ,maybe duct taped to a chair with a wig slapped on his head and with Rudiboy fondling the "batphone" and some tranny queens serving cocktails....I don't think it is so far fetched ,I really don't. It's a given that Queen Rudi will be "elected" just like King Georgieboy was, why wouldn't he wear his dresses in the oval office? His "wife" probably makes him wear them at home when "he" cleans house and straightens her shoes. He probably enjoys it when she waterboards him.
