Richardson Raises $5.2 Million For Quarter

Bill Richardson's campaign has raised an estimated $5.2 million for the third quarter, bringing his total fundraising to date to over $18 million and likely putting him at the top of the lower tier of Democratic candidates.

Richardson spokesman Tom Reynolds told the Associated Press that the candidate would be "very hesitant" to go on public financing like John Edwards, citing the severe spending restrictions that would with the money and thus give an advantage to the Republicans.

Interesting, given that he is probably the most corporate-friendly Dem in the race, and the NYTimes (I think?) article on Bush Rangers giving to Dems this time around had quite a few former Bushies now giving to Richardson. This is actually much lower for him than I would have expected.

Oh yeah IWW, as the most outspoken opponent of Bush's Iraq policy, Bushies are just flocking to Richardson. Give me a break, if you want to spread disinformation for another campaign at least cite something a little harder to look up.

There was a Bloomberg article about Bush Rangers going to Clinton & Obama but I can't find anything about them going to Richardson: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20670001&refer=politics&sid=afaR_KaZJEds

There are some libertarians who had voted for Bush, especially in 2000, who have abandoned the GOP but they sure as hell weren't Bushies.

Try reading your own link, for starters.

Richardson is the only Dem candidate other than Obama or Clinton to be mentioned as a recipient more than once.

And his stance on Iraq does NOTHING to affect his general pro-business platform, unless maybe you're talking about potential military contractors.

Jeez.
