Poll: Hillary Beating Most Republicans In Washington State
A new SurveyUSA poll in Washington state finds Hillary Clinton running well ahead of the Republicans, with only John McCain able to put up a fight:
Clinton (D) 50%, Giuliani (R) 43%
Clinton (D) 52%, Thompson (R) 42%
Clinton (D) 54%, Romney (R) 39%
Clinton (D) 57%, Huckabee (R) 34%
McCain (R) 47%, Clinton (D) 46%
Clinton (D) 55%, Paul (R) 36%
The state has not voted Republican for president since the 1984 Reagan landslide.

How does Kucinich poll against Giuliani?

McCain really is one of the tougher GOP candidates. The negatives that face Giuliani and Romney will crush them in a General election. There are a lot of Independents and some Democrats who have fond memories of McCain and his 2000 presidential run. Come November 2008, many will have had time to forget his 2004-2007 makeover.

Would somebody please point out to SurveyUSA that the Democratic nomination is nowhere near settled yet, and that it might be a good idea to run some others in addition to Hillary in their 800-permutation general election dry runs?

And, in response to Daniel's latest shill for Hill, I'll say it again: the news that Hillary Clinton has won a majority of the votes in North Carolina will be followed by the weather lady telling us the Action Doppler Rader track is tracking a severe winter storm that's bearing down on Hell.
If you go to the dictionary and look up "apocolyptic" you'll see a picture of a typical white North Carolinian expressing his or her feelings about Hillary. And actually, the same picture can be found next to "apopolexy," "vituperation" and "batshit crazy."

why continue posting these horrible, useless SurveyUSA polls when Pew and others are releasing far more interesting, informative and relevant election research? Check out their News Interest Index. Turns out the SurveyUSA record is pretty good, but I still find their focus on Clinton, and Clinton alone, bizarre.

another useful quote from that same 2004 retrospective Slate article:

And by the way, a recent Rasmussen poll has Obama matching up similarly with the leading Republican candidates, so there's no reason to single out Clinton.

Has anybody vouched for the honesty of any of these polls?
