Thank Howard Dean and the 4-state pledge for the general election head-to-head matchups.
But, who cares. Florida never has any impact on the Presidential election, anyway.

How Democrats pull defeat out of the jaws of victory over and over again, 2008 Edition.
81% of Democrats think Hillary is the most electable candidate.

Yet half of all likely voters nationwide say they would never vote for Hillary.

This is how we ended up with Mondale, Dukakis and Kerry on the tickets. Democrats making electoral decisions based upon a delusion that they have some keen insight into people who they, in fact, don't understand at all.
Sigh.

Doh! Double-post. Instant Karma for mentally upbraiding others for doing it, I guess.

Uh, MBM (mrs. bill's memo) the same gd poll has Mr. 9/11 beating mrs. bill 46% to 43%. Where is that headline???? Do you guys want the repukes to win by constantly cheerleading mrs. bill to the expense of the other dems???? On another note, I can't wait to see the mrs. bill staffers colon, jan and dcshungu spinning this one. It should be very funny.

Are the Democrats that stupid? To nominate the only candidate the Republicans can beat? The Republican-owned media polls tell us they are. They lie.

OK, constantly using "mrs. bill" referring to Hillary Clinton reeks of sexism and is actually quite revealing of the poster of those comments. I guess sexism is funny to some. Not so much to me, however.
Also, complaining about ALL the polls showing Hillary leading the Dems as somehow showing that TPM EC has a pro-Hillary bias is the same as Bush complaining about bad news from Iraq having a liberal bias. Can we at least show some semblence of consistency? Please? The polls can change from now til January, to be sure, but the polls are the polls and reflect current sentiment.

Why do you trust the polls?

Ok, I bite. I've seen some strange posts from you gq, but I bite. Please explain to me why mrs. bill "reeks of sexism"? How is that any different from Mrs. Clinton? I refer to her as mrs. bill, because she is trying to run on billy's record painted through rose colored glasses and that's about it. Sooo, I ask, why does it "reek of sexism"?
Also, concerning the polls, I get the tactic, make her look like a juggernaut and unbeatable. However, where is the addressing of issues? There is no addressing of issues her supporters want people to vote for her because she is allegedly inevitable and that's it, not because of issues. All her supporters talk about is polls and inevitability, but nothing on the issues except generalities.

A question for NCSteve, who would you like to see be the Democratic nominee? What facts lead you to believe your choice would be a stronger candidate than Hillary?

Gosh, this is probably one of the few times I've found myself agreeing with gqmartinez, but, here goes:
Michael ... PLEASE drop the "Mrs. Bill" crap. It DOES reek of sexism (ask any woman who opts to go by her own name and gets automatically referred to as Mrs. Spouse). Also, if you're going to use a title, hers is technically Senator. No one talks about "Mr." Obama or Edwards.
Moreover, anyone here on TPM who is likely to be sympathetic to or convinced by your arguments already knows how much HRC owes to her husband, and how much her campaign strategy relies on claiming credit for his presidential successes. You're not helping your cause.
I say this as someone who is sympathetic to many of your points, and not a HRC fan.

Wes2, I still don't get it. You're giving me a conclusion. I really want to understand, because of all the things I have been accused of, being sexist has never been on anybody's radar screen and in fact I am pro-feminist and equal rights and pay, etc. Now, I have heard people refer to Mr. Obama and Mr. Edwards. Also, Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Edwards. What's the big gd deal? Also, I have never seen on any blog, let alone this one, anyone referring to any of these "senators" as senator obama, senator edwards (technically former senator edwards), other than payed campaign workers. So, I ask again, what's the big deal?
By the way, I don't believe she "owes" anything to bill. My beef is that she hasn't done squat with the opportunity handed to her on a silver platter to be a gd senator and yet she wants to be president claiming all this non-existent experience. What experience???? She is the experienced candidate???? She wants to be a leader? What leadership has she exhibited in the senate?? Where has she addressed a huge problem head on and rounded up the bozos in the senate to support her cause???? And she wants to be president??? Give me a break.
