Poll: Gore's Poll Numbers Not Boosted By Nobel Prize

In case he's still thinking about a presidential run, a new Gallup poll finds that Al Gore's Nobel Prize did not give him any bump in the polls.

Earlier this month, before the Peace Prize was awarded, Gallup's national Democratic polling featuring Gore gave him 10% support. Post-Nobel, he is only at 14%. Furthermore, this statistically insignificant boost appears to have come almost entirely out of Barack Obama's hide, leaving Hillary Clinton unaffected as the national frontrunner — in fact, she went up a point, from 43% to 44%.

Uh, ok, last poll I saw out of New Hampshire a couple of months ago showed gore winning new hampshire over mrs. bill and the field by about 20 points. I'm sure that didn't go down. All the pollsters don't include gore in the polls in new hampshire now for that reason. Oh, let's not give the guy credit for carrying new hampshire, when he isn't even running. That would be newsworthy, but we wouldn't want to shake up the coronation now would we.

By the way, don't you think a national poll is skewed to mrs. bill because she is way ahead in california and new york, the two biggest states? You think that might skew the numbers? Nah, let's crown her now. We had a king, now lets have a queen.

Lots of poll out today, including AL, MO, and NJ general elections. Full roundup here!

One conclusion we can clearly draw is that Hillary's supporters are being dishonest when they tell us they are voting based on experience.

Gore's supporters want real change. So it's no surprise that he doesn't appeal to Hillary voters.

This is what's wrong with politics. It is not Gore's qualifications to serve as president that are the subject of discussion, but his standing in the polls.

We really have turned politics into a spectator sport, two stands full of ignorant spectators, having purchased their pricey tickets with borrowed funds, cheering for the teams playing on a distant field as if the outcome really mattered.

The only real losers are the people in the stands.

I'm glad they polled for this. Now maybe all those pining for this pipe dream can come back to earth.

Sigh -- I just purchased my Hillary 08 stickers to replace my Draft Gore sticker -- at this point, she's going to be the nominee, so the key to victory is to get other people used to the idea as well.

Hey, RickT,

As long as you're making predictions of future events, can you tell me what the stock market's going to do three months from now? I could use the dough.

Btw, although I can't foresee the future, I got a phone call from the past. Former President Muskie says "hi."

You know, I am sick of paid campaign staffers posting on this site. It really is transparent concerning some of the comments. I will never vote for mrs. bill, she is dishonest, inexperienced, beholden to special interests, bush lite, etc. I really don't care to hear what she says, unless she talks about the following, with substance:

1. How we get out of Iraq yesterday, no bs, no waffling, no Islamo-fascist bs - A concrete plan.

2. How we straighten out our screwed up economy? There is a bigger disparity of income and asset ownership than the 1920's. What is going on?

3. Universal government sponsored healthcare for all. No insurance companies in the mix. They are total rip-off artists.

I'll think of some more, but it will be a waste of time, because she would never address these issues with any substance and just wants to keep more of the same. That's why people call her bush-lite.

It's really hard to know what this means without a closer look at the text of the questions asked.

If Al Gore were simply included in a list of candidates and I were asked who I planned to vote for, I wouldn't pick him.

If, on the other hand, the question were structured as a hypothetical "If Al Gore decided to enter the race, would you vote for him?" I'd say yes.

These polls drive me nuts. Yes even the ones where my candidate is winning.

It is well known in public that Al Gore has SAID he is NOT THINKING of running. So if a voter is asked to pick between Al Gore, John Edwards, Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton - WHY would they BOTHER to vote for GORE? Wouldn't you call that a WASTED vote? I know I would.

If Al Gore were to ANNOUNCE tomorrow that he was IN the RUNNING for PRESIDENT - his Polls would immediately increase - taking votes from BOTH Obama and Hillary.

Hillary knows that and would be SCARED to death if Gore were to do just that.

I hope he does - she needs to be knocked off that pedastal she's put herself on.

What part of HE'S NOT RUNNING don't they get? How tedious.
