Another House Republican Announces Retirement
Congressman David Hobson (R-OH) has made his choice: He is not running for re-election.
Hobson made the announcement today, bringing to an end a Congressional career that has spanned nine terms, and making him the 12th House Republican to announce that he is leaving. Eleven of them, including Hobson, are retiring outright, while only Heather Wilson of New Mexico is seeking higher office.
By comparison, only two House Democrats are leaving — Mark Udall of Colorado and Tom Allen of Maine — and in their cases they are both running for Senate.
The suburban Columbus district voted 57% for President Bush in 2004, so the Republicans should be favored to retain the seat.
Late Update: There are in fact 12 House Republicans who are leaving their seats, not 13. Tom Davis of Virginia might announce for Senate, but that has not happened as of yet.

Indeed this seat will be much less competitive than OH-15 or OH-16 which opened up on Friday (analysis of OH-16 here). But stranger things happened in 2006... So Republicans should be careful as they now have 5 very competitive seats in Ohio to defend (check out these house rankings).

Another case of Hobson's choice.

I just wondered if the gushing editorial board here that seems to report nothing but 'good news' for Hillary caught the new Nevada Poll that shows Hillary with a 54% definitely not vote for rating and she trails everyone including even Mitt Romney. Is that just a little bit too bad of news to report for this blog?

Steve: Please POST A LINK to the source. If you don't post a link to the 'Nevada Poll' then your assertions have no credibility, mean nothing.
For example: In a new poll in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton is leading by double digits.
