Biden Putting Everything Into IowaVote On Kyl-Lieberman Iran Bill Coming Soon
According to Harry Reid's office, a Senate vote on the Kyl-Lieberman Iran amendment has been scheduled for today. It will likely come in the next hour.
We'll bring you a copy of the final amendment's language as soon as we get it. The measure, in essence, accuses Iran of fighting a proxy war against coalition forces in Iraq and threatens to combat Iran's efforts. Meanwhile, yesterday's TPMtv episode on the amendment is here.
Late Update: Senator Jim Webb is still unhappy with the legislation. Yesterday he complained that the amendment designated the Iranian guard a terrorist organization. According to Joe Lieberman, who just spoke on the Senate floor, the amendment still does that. And Webb, who's speaking on the floor now, says he still opposes it.
Why the hell is this piece of crap being allowed to come up for a vote, and Webb's troop rotation amendment wasn't?

When will conneticut get the cahones and recall this traitor. He has so much blood on his hands and now he wants to attack Iran? WTF is going on?
On another note, I wish Webb was my Senator. What a great, intelligent, well spoken, distinguished Senator. Good job Virginia. I can see why Mr. Macaka is history. Now lets see conneticut get in the game and throw this traitor out of the senate.

Seriously, I'm with Redshift here. Can somebody explain wtf is going through their heads with this and with Hillary's gratuitous slam at Amawhatizname on Monday? Are they completely blind to the fact that a) Cheney and the neonuts are serious about wanting to start another war and b) this Administration will construe anything along these lines as authorization to start it without further Congressional approval?
Are they just so obsessed with appearing "tough" and warlike for the folks back home who are heartily sick of war? Are they just wanting to appear "serious" to the other people in the Beltway? Are they just flat out out of their frikkin minds? Could somebody please click up "Sources" on their PDAs ask all the unnamed congressional staffers what the hell is really going on here?
