Tim Johnson Returns To Capitol Hill
Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD), who has been out of the Senate since his near-fatal brain hemorrhage this past December, returned to his office for the first time, to much press coverage:

More photos of his Capitol Hill "homecoming" are available here.
Johnson also did a brief press conference at his office, flanked by Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-SD) and Senator John Thune (R-SD). When asked what the next big milestone would be in his recovery, he answered, "An inch at a time."

Good to see this, especially in light of the other bad news of the day regarding Congressmembers who passed away.
From the looks of my inbox, it seems like Dems are rallying heavily for Johnson in '08. Also good to see.

He sounds pretty damned good! This is fantastic news. There have been a some massive strokes in my family so I have a lot of sympathy for what Johnson and the people around him have been going through. It's really good to see him up and around and speaking so well.

The great news is that when your speech is affected, your thinking, personality and thinking abilities are usually just like they were before. If your speech center isn't affected by the stroke and you talk just fine, often times, your personality and/or your thinking patterns may be disturbed. Looks like the Senator Johnson is back in full except for a few external things which will continue to improve as he works on them. (from a nursing perspective)Welcome Back, Senator!! We are lucky to have you.
