Sneak Peek At Edwards Ad Running During Bush's Iraq Speech

Okay, here's a first look at a portion of the new two-minute ad that John Edwards, in a novel move, is running on MSNBC during President Bush's prime-time speech on Iraq. We obtained a copy of an excerpt:

Looks like I am going to have to just watch the whole thing!

I liked what little there is. I think the listing of what Bush said and wanted in January, May, and now is effective. I think his delivery was good--"Now what does President Bush want? More time for the surge to work" was particularly effective, at least to me.

Too bad it's only running on MSNBC. But kudos to Edwards for ponying up the bucks to do this. I'd like to see more of the candidates making these commercials.

He's right. We should have stopped the surge in the first place. Edwards tried. he supported the Kennedy bill to defund the escalation. Obama, missing in action, just equivoated and submitted a bill when he decided to run for president. Clinton, nothing.

We need to start bringing a lot of troops home now. Edwards wants 40-50,000 home ASAP.

He's also right about no timeline, no funding.

At least, a Democrat who stands up to Bush and the Republicans.

Edwards might be hitting hard, and its great to see him do that, but he is not creating enough space with the other frontrunners to really distinguish himself on Iraq.

I'm excited by this move by Edwards. First I think it really addresses the action needed to end this war. I am impressed that Edwards is using his campaign to address issues that are important now and not just waiting to do things in 2009. Secondly I hope that this video demonstrates why Democrats everywhere need to pay attention to his campaign. He is the change agent and leader we need after such a disastrous Republican administration. Clinton just is not working at this level. She is a good senator but not a leader on national issues.

I really admire Edwards for doing this! Warms my heart, and gives me hope that the other dems will follow suit.

Great idea to strongly align himself with the majority of American people.

I think Edwards is making good use of his money. Even if he doesn't get the nomination, this is good pushback on the war. It seems my $35 was well spent.

Thanks for posting this! I think this is a great move by the Edwards campaign. Plus, I just like to see people call Bush on his bullshit.

Thanks for the preview - should be a helluva video.

Kudos to the Edwards campaign for choosing MSNBC to spread the message.

This is what speaking truth to power really means!

We have the video on, but the sound off on the shrub's address. We can't stand to listen to this war criminal any more. We look forward to hearing what Edwards has to say. Too bad he is no longer in the Senate.
