Quote Of The Day
"It is a sad day in the Senate when we spend hours debating an ad while our young people are dying in Iraq. Now that the Senate has twice voted on this ad, it is time to move on and vote to end the war."
-- Chris Dodd, in a statement on the Senate's votes today on whether to condemn MoveOn (Via Atrios).

Does anyone have a clue as to what the political calculus is here that has the Democratically controlled Senate so reluctant to fight hard for an end to the war or anything else related to changing Iraq policy. Why do they roll over everytime the thugs challenge them? Are they all on the DC madams phone list? Are they waiting for the Republicans to grow a conscience, to drop their backstabbing tactics, to abandon their swiftboating of every Dem who shows leadership? I thought the wait was over in Nov 2006.
