New MoveOn Ad Returns Fire At Rudy For Quitting ISG

MoveOn has just launched a new TV ad in Iowa firing back at Rudy, who's been hammering the group of late for daring to question the credibility of Scholar Warrior Petraeus.

The ad asks why voters should take Rudy's views on Iraq seriously given that he quit the Iraq Study Group, thus forgoing a chance to have a direct impact on America's debate about what do do about the war at a time when he wasn't running for President:

Rudy clearly made a colossal mistake on this one. There is no way out at all for his NOT being on the ISG panel. This would have given him clear bonafides about talking on the issues of Iraq and terrorism. But instead he decided to go make money from speeches. He didn't care enough about the issue, in other words. And now he staggeringly presumes to be President and says often that he 'gets it' when it comes to terrorism. He's a liar. He doesn't 'get it', he's just 'full of it'.

He knew it was a lose-lose proposition, politically speaking, and he didn't want the Iraq albatross hanging around his neck.

I wonder how the Repubs are going to deal with this emerging trait of betrayal.

My favorite part of this ad is this info shoved into Rudy's face at the end:
"MoveOn. org, 3.5 million members"

All it takes for them to do whatever they want is to get a suggestion, call for a buck a member, and then pretty much speak the truth.
I'm a charter member from the impeachment days, and I LOVE the way they think.

And the best part is, Rudy spent $65,000 for that "badge of honor" the Loyal Bushie Clinton Haters wanted.

The next best part is, Dick Cheney has hopped onto the bandwagon as of today.

I'll bet MoveOn could find some pretty "betrayal of trust" quotes from Dick Cheney if we asked them. Anybody gotta a buck to give 'em?

From Rudy Giuliani to Dick Cheney to Fox News, on down... everyone expected to be able to bitch-slap and bury MoveOn.org, for being "shrill" and "insulting our [SNIFF!!] military!".

Instead. MoveOn.org, in case you missed the Petraeus ad, repeats the word "BETRAYED" (what a coincidence!), and quietly reminds the GOP that they have "3.5 million members".

In. Your. Face.

Apologize? Wow, I see the strategy and I love it: GOP will be calling for an "apology", for every single "offensive" ad MoveOn takes out. While the GOP is still howling like a stuck pig about the LAST one, MoveOn will be running the NEXT one. E.G., they're still whining about Petraeus... and now THIS one's running!

For the White House, this must be like slamming your foot on the brakes, repeatedly, and discovering that nothing's working anymore. Tell me again how MoveOn screwed up!

How definite is it Giuliani will be competing in the Iowa caucus? He already skipped the Ames straw poll -- not a big surprise considering the social-conservative tilt of the state party caucus-goers there. Given that he will definitely compete in New Hampshire, why not run the ad there instead?
