MoveOn Sticking With Betrayal Motif In New Ad

MoveOn is now raising money to air a new TV spot, debunking Bush's promised "withdrawal" of 30,000 troops in Iraq — which if true would only bring us back to the pre-surge levels.

And MoveOn isn't backing away from the "Betray Us" ad, either — the narrator closes the ad with, "George Bush: A betrayal of trust."

"Betrayal of Trust" is an excellent theme.

I trust MoveOn to screw it up and make it work against us.

Damn they didn't go with my suggestion. The Fallon "chickensh#t ass licker" theme

Good ad. Where is it airing?

MoveOn is right on the money, going straight after the repuglican's in a no-holds barred fashion. If the Democrats in Congress would do the same thing, their prospects would look better than their poll numbers suggest.

OMG! pacc, we actually agreed on something. :)

Congressional Democrats and especially all of the candidates vying for being the Democratic nominee should have chastised the Republicans for their screed over the ad. An ad that turned out to be dead on the money.

Petraeus's testimony was completely driven by White House talking points. Trying to foist off the "surge" dying down as a troop withdraw is outright lying. When he strayed by admitting that he did not know if the War in Iraq was making Americans safer, he recieved a nasty phone call from the White House and recanted on the next time he was in front of the mic.

Michael Caine,
Glad to see you're finally coming around. ;)

I, for one, don't feel the least bit betrayed. I never trusted George Bush, I knew he was a lying sack of road apples. I didn't realize how MUCH of a snake he was, so I suppose you could say my inherent optimism has been dealt a blow. But betrayed? Hardly.

More like a betrayal of intelligence.
