McCain Hits Upcoming Ahmadinejad Speech At Columbia University

John McCain is jumping on the bash-Iran bandwagon, putting out this press release in response to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's upcoming speech at Columbia University:

"A man who is directing the maiming and killing of Americans troops should not be given an invitation to speak at an American university. Rather than rolling out the red carpet for the leader of a terrorist-sponsoring regime, Columbia should be welcoming the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) back on campus to honor the men and women who put their lives on the line every day defending our freedom."

The Iranian president's speech is scheduled for September 24. Given McCain's recent campaign woes, maybe some jabs against Iran could help — after all, there aren't too many easier targets.

We all know that politicians say what we want to hear; this is especially so in a presendential campaign. But I have never witnessed a more pathetic fall from grace as that of John McCain. He went from a man who purportedly speaks his mind, to a chickenhearted pol who has to consult a weathervane before he opens his mouth. His comments on the floor of the Senate and on a recent Sunday talk show reveal a man who will say anything, as long as it sounds like he's sucking up, either to a voting bloc or to another pol with his own private constituency. We've got to get rid of his type in D.C.

Muslims Against Sharia condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the decision of Columbia University to provide a speaking venue for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Apparently letting Akbar Rafsanjani speak at the National Cathedral was not the height of American Dhimmitude, because providing a venue for the world's foremost anti-Semite, whose proclaimed goal is the destruction of the USA and Israel, definitely takes the cake. What is surprising is that we don't hear any complaints from Columbia alumni who should be ashamed of their silence.
