Gillmor's Death Ruled Accidental
The medical examiner in the death of Congressman Paul Gillmor (R-OH), who was found deceased at his Northern Virginia apartment on Wednesday, said Gillmor died of head and neck trauma "consistent with a fall." The circumstances of his death, which is now ruled to have been accidental, were not considered suspicious.
Congressman Gillmor was 68 years old, serving his tenth term in the House.
Late Update: The Rothenberg Political Report has the news that Gillmor's widow has ruled out a run for his seat.

So his death was "pretty much above board," then.

Well, there's 435 of them there. Accidental deaths are bound to happen, statistically.

still sad to hear. hope he didn't suffer long. a real nightmare for young, but especially older people, is to fall and linger unfound for a while until dying or becoming severely disabled. I know I think of it when getting out of the shower or stumbling to the toilet at night. Who'd find me, when, if I banged my head or broke my neck.
wish his family well.

I wonder, just for the sake of controversy, what secret knowledge Gillmor might have shared in common with Dunn...
Not meaning to sound paranoid, but they both surely knew more secrets than any of us might choose to harbor, they were in the thick of it all during their terms in Congress.
A good fiction writer might see a scenario here where their Constitutional consciences were moving them to uncover something BIG from those days of tainted GOP glory?
Just food for thought, or if you don't like reckless conspiracy theories, you can consider this a provocation...

iirc, the actor william holden was drunk when he fell, hit his head, and died from the injuries in 1981.
