I love that our party committees are dominating the Rethugs, but one thing that is strongly misleading in liberal blog reporting including this piece by Greg is the notion that the debt factors into the equation of what's available to spend. The reality is that campaign committees and candidates always carry debt forward, beyond the election if necessary, in order to spend what they have on hand to try to win elections. So subtracting debt from cash-on-hand to see what's available is wrong. What's available is cash-on-hand, without considering debt.

but they can only go so long until they have to make those ends meet, in this case, the debt will inevitably grow, not just get moved forward.

Your economic model pretends they won't spend anything and they will get a lot more donations...

Neither is a very reasonable assumption, considering the current sorry state of affairs... it has nothing to do with "liberal blog reporting" the term I think you should be looking for was "econimic reality."

It's an ideal year for young insurgent Democrats to consider running for Congress in districts that were thought to be hopelessly red. There will be money available to them and incumbents will be struggling to raise money.
