Prostitute To Provide Details Of Affair With Vitter
Looks like Senator David Vitter (R-LA) may have to do a whole new round of repenting and Lord's-forgiveness-asking in public:
NEW ORLEANS -- A former New Orleans prostitute who says she had an affair with Sen. David Vitter has passed a lie-detector test and will provide details of the four-month relationship at a press conference Tuesday, according to Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt.Wendy Cortez, whose real name is Wendy Ellis, says she had a sexual relationship with Vitter, R-La., in 1999, when he was a state legislator.
Copies of the results of Cortez's polygraph test, which she took at Flynt's request, will be provided to reporters at the news conference at Flynt's office in Beverly Hills, Calif., Hustler said in a news release Monday.
But remember, the only reason Republicans who demanded Larry Craig's ouster aren't howling for Vitter's head is because Craig did something illegal and Vitter didn't...

GOD BLESS LARRY FLINT!

Diapers, diapers, diapers!
Remember that Sen. Vitter denied it in the past, so presumably the GOP's Clinton-era "it's not the sex, it's the lying" rule will be in effect.
From the AP article:
Vitter, a first-term senator elected in 2004, has denied having relationships with New Orleans prostitutes. In a call-in radio show during the Senate campaign, he dismissed as "absolutely and completely untrue" that he had a relationship with a Wendy Cortez.

Vitter better vet that bitter clap-trap before she dumps a load of unholy litter onto his pious lap.
Git 'er, Vitter, ere your Rep falls into the sh!tter! (titter, titter)

someone ought to rip those presidential medals of freedom from the necks of bremer, franks, and tenet and present them to flynt, a real american hero.

Some day, a President should award Larry Flynt the Medal of Freedom for fighting the Republicans by making public their own bad actions and hypocrisy and for standing up to them when no Democrats would.

But his wife and teh (sic) Lord forgave him...
His wife didn't look too forgiving to me, and I doubt that Larry does much talking to his Lord.

hey Mitch, perhaps he didn't do something 'illegal' (even though he did by giving a prostitute money for sex) he certainly did something 'unethical'. perhaps that Senate ETHICS committee should look into this situation. hmm, whaddya think there, ol lemon puss? should they? or perhaps you really don't care about the ethics part. perhaps its just you dont care at all. just about your job and your party keeping what minor power they have. oh right that is it, mitchy ugly boy. amazing you just threw Larry Craig away like your used toilet paper when you no longer needed him, even though the day before he was a 'valued republican colleague and friend'. you really are a creature of putrescence.

Vitter is going to shit himself, after he pays another hooker $350 to watch and clean him up afterwards.

Isn't Jimmy Swaggart from that neck of the woods? They can do two part harmonies of I have sinned....

When Speaker-elect Bob Livingston (R-LA) was forced to resign after Larry Flynt exposed his marital infidelity, Louisiana State Sen. David Vitter said Livingston was doing the "right thing" and Bill Clinton could learn from his example. Vitter benefited greatly from Flynt's outing of Livingston as a "family values" hypocrite -- Vitter was elected to his seat in Congress.
Now we know that at the same time that Vitter was criticizing Bill Clinton for fooling around, Vitter himself was doing the same thing, except he was paying $300/hr for it. Reminds me of Newt Gingrich pushing the impeachment of Bill Clinton while he himself was having an extramarital affair. Hypocrisy seems to run in the GOP family.
When Vitter ran for the Senate in 2004, he was accused by a Louisiana Republican colleague of having this affair with Wendy Cortez but he said that accusation was "absolutely and completely untrue."
No doubt Sen. Vitter will receive another "loud standing ovation" from his GOP colleagues in the Senate following his new "I have sinned" confession. The Republicans are just thrilled when it doesn't involve boys.

Yes, Jimmy Swaggart is from this neck of the woods. He used to take prostitutes to by-th-hour, roach-infested motels on Airline Hwy.
Jimmy "I have sinned against you, my Lord" was an Academy Award-worthy performance, crocodile tears and all.

She'll give details on Tuesday? As in Tuesday, September 11? What a way to mark that anniversary ... I can't believe we believe Republicans about anything anything anything.

I'm beginning to wonder if Flynt timed this to assist Larry Craig's lawyers in pointing out THE SHRIEKING DOUBLE STANDARD here.
Of course, the real reason the GOP's standing by Vitter is because if were to step down now, the Democratic governor would appoint a Democrat to replace him, whereas Idaho's governor is a Republican.

Not that Vitter is running in 2008, but could there be any more bad news for Senate Republicans?? This has got to be very demoralizing at some point. Check out those Senate Rankings. Senate Dems are on a roll.

It's a mistake to put any confidence in lie detector results. Polygraph "testing" is a pseudoscientific fraud, and liars can easily pass using simple countermeasures. Moreover, the polygraph operator Larry Flynt hired has an added ethical cloud hanging over his head: American Polygraph Association past president Dr. Edward I. Gelb, Ph.D. never received a doctoral degree from an accredited university:

Sorry, confused -- not expressing an opinion here. but when you say "Craig did something illegal and Vitter didn't..." ???
Isn't prostitution illegal, even for the customer? I see in the news, guys picked up by cops posing as prostitutes. So, please explain!!

Stop spoiling the fun, troll. The point is that we have a face now - it's been well established that Vitter screwed around in New Orleans, not just DC as he claims. And if this takes out a Bush-enabler, who cares what the transgression is? These people brought it on themselves, legislating everyone's sex life and attacking a country that never bothered us instead of taking realistic counterterror measures. Bye Vitter!

To beat a polygraph requires considerable training or the person might have to be an outright psychopath. I doubt that either condition obtains here.
It is VERY hard to beat an experienced polygrapher.

Most republithugs are so self righteous that it is no wonder people grasp hands and dance when they are found to be just as human as everybody else. They run on their "holier than tho" platforms and can't help but fall off when their "humanism" stares them in the face.
Craig, Vitter, Foley, et al have all fallen. Want to see super self righteousness? Want to see someone above us all? Watch Mitt Romney. He is a faithful Mormon. Mormon men are taught and believe that as Jesus Christ was (walking the earth among lowly humans) they are. As Jesus Christ is (sitting at the right hand of God) they will be. Only with their very own planet, cause Jesus already has dibs on this one.

A little confused (and probably echoing what others have said here): in some jurisdictions, like NH (where until recently I practiced criminal law), adultery is still on the books as a crime (B misd.). Anyone who likes can read the Revised Statutes Annotated themselves. Moreover, solicitation of a crime (e.g., prostitution) is also a crime--that's why johns get arrested. So, can someone explain to me again why Vitter *didn't* commit countless crimes here? Like, many more than did Craig? And why (therefore) hasn't he been drummed out of the House? It's bizarre, and clearly a double-standard.
