Hillary Camp Hits Rudy: He's Running "First Negative Ad Of Campaign"
The Hillary campaign is hitting back at Rudy's full-page Times ad faulting her for daring to raise questions about Scholar-Warrior Petraeus' credibility. The statement from Hillary spokesperson Phil Singer:
It’s hardly surprising that Mayor Giuliani is running the first negative ad of the 08 campaign given his inability to justify his unqualified support for President Bush’s failed Iraq strategy. Senator Clinton respects Gen Petraeus’ service to our country. She knows the best way to honor our soldiers is to end the war in Iraq and bring them home.

By contrast, Elizabeth Edwards came out denouncing the MoveOn ad today, a highly surprising move given her husband's attempt at seducing the anti-war crowd.

I really don't understand why some waste their time trying to prove that Hillary isn't a general election disaster waiting to happen for the Democrats or why some dems are so caught up in the "good old days" that they can't wait to cross that bridge back to the 20th century
Rudy and the Republicans know what some democrats seem unable to comprehend - that as George Bush is for Democrats, Hillary Clinton is the best motivator a Republican could hope for and at this point, their only chance for survival in the WH and the Congress
I can only conclude that some dems harbor a death wish

Moveon.org should go after George Bush becasue he is the on who is betraying us. General Patraeus is going to end up getting the same treatment all generals get from Bush which is betrayal. General Patreus got stuck in a tough place, but he put himself there. Saying that my husband retired from the military and he was against the Iraq war from the first and got a lot of criticism from his brothers, but not once did they say he did not serve his country with respect. The military is a tough life and it takes a lot of strength to serve, and General Patraeus deserves at least some respect for this, no matter what people think in their hearts. Elizabeth did the right thing speaking up.

Gen PetRaeus is a rank careerist. An exceptional whore in an administration of hacks and whores.
He isn't in Powell's position at all. He went from two stars to four stars in that promotion. He pushed the Bush line in 2004. He's failed in every Iraq assignment he's had including this one
The truth hurts but the truth needs to be told for a change
His CENTCOM superior Adm Fallon knows what PetRaeus is all about.

John Mc: You might be right about Hillary being the great motivator of the right, just as W. is for the left. But W. won in 2004 because he had his base and just enough independents to defeat the very motivated Dems. Since then the Republicans have driven so many people into the arms of the Dems that the same could very well happen with Hillary. At the moment, the Dem. base is bigger than the Rep. base. She just might pull it off. Sadly, there's little other choice. Obama is running an empty campaign and Edwards is sinking fast.

I don't doubt that Hillary, as of now, is the marginal favorite to beat any Republican.
But I don't really care about NOW. I don't care about avenging Bill as much as I admire him, as strenuously as I supported him, as many hours as I waited to hear him speak when he was hours late...
The point is that Hillary is without question the weakest democrat we can nominate NEXT year
Rudy knows it
The Republicans know it
I know it
