Quote Of The Day
“Alberto Gonzales is the first Attorney General who thought the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth were three different things."
-- Rahm Emanuel, in a just-released statement on Gonzo's resignation.

That's priceless.
What a Monday. First Gonzalez resigns, and then Election Central has a spiffy new format.
Too much change in one morning....

Is there a reason why we're no longer able to reply directly to a commenter? Or will that feature (hopefully) return?
And the ratings system is history? Too many petulant ratings?

Congratulations to Josh Marshall and TPM.
I don't know if the firestorm over Alberto Gonzales would have happened at all if not for all the digging by TPM. There were many skeptical early on that it was anything more than a brush fire.
In any case, thanks.
You reeled a big one.
Best, Terry

I'm going to have to echo Terry's thoughts. Following the excellent work those involved with this site did on Social Security, the U.S. Attorney scandal was a true pies de resistance (sp?) for TPM. You guys were tireless in tracking that, and really were the engine that pushed the story early on, until it's own momentum carried it to this point.
Very well done.
The lack of ratings and inability to respond directly...ah, I'll miss em, but it will probably cut down on bickering tremendously, and that's always nice.

How about the ability to enlarge the print? These fonts are too small for my eyes.

Markg8, that's controllable within your browser. In Firefox it's in the View drop-down menu; I avoid IE like the plague it is, so I'm not sure where it is in there, but I suspect the same place.

What an awesome pithy statement!

thanks for the tip Linkmeister but it does not work in IE.

Ya' know ... coming from anyone else, that would be amusing.
But as the DLC/AIPAC Double-Agent-In-Chief, Rahm Emanuel will get no chuckles from me.
As far as I'm concerned, he and Karl Rove are just two sides of the same counterfeit coin.

Love the Quote and love the format!
Zing!

vicissitude - hold down the Ctrl key and roll the ball on your mouse (assuming you have one). I hate IE, but have to use it because it's "standard" where I work. Yeech.

Linkmeister,
Thanks for the tip on enlarging the font; I was beginning to think I'd have to give up on Election Central... I'm totally 'puter-illiterate, so would have never thought of the option myself.
But I still don't like this new format :)

Rahm's been quick with the good comments lately. I have to say I've been pleased. :)
