Wow. That picture really does say it all. Wizard of Oz much? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, and all that jazz.
So let's see...
Under Bush, some people are imprisoned forever without due process of law while others who receive due process of law and are found guilty are set free.
Do I have that right?
It makes perfect sense once you realize that Bush came from the Bizzaro world through a tear in spacetime. He does exactly the right thing, for the Bizzaro world.
"Me am President! Me must do really terrible things today!"
Yes. It's the Lookingglass World of GW Bush.
What "Feds" is he talking about? Every DHS official from Chertoff on down is trying to downplay this and have found no links to anybody here. In an election year the attempted terrorism in Britain would have caused a red alert here.
Matt Drudge, the Walter Winchell of the internet.
Who cares what this fraudster thinks/writes/links?
Unfortunately, a lot of people think he is a legitimate news source.
lj629, your statement above is a real keeper, and I am definitely keeping it. Thanks.
Just an fyi, David Shuster, subbing for Chris Matthews (thank God!) on Hardball tonight keeps setting the record straight for those speakers on the right who say that Scooter wasn't guilty of anything becuz Armitage leaked and/or because no crime was committed. I believe Shuster sat through the whole Libby trial, and got educated, in part, by emptywheel and others. He should be commended for the role he is now performing on the nightly talk show. He also was a shining star during Katrina and its aftermath. Don't know his politics, but he seems to be a straight shooter.
I feel like there's some of kind ironic "In Soviet Russia" joke to be made here but I can't work it out...

Yes, I'd say our state is quite execptional right now. Some parts of it are ruled by law, some of it by people. LIbby's a nice illustration but if you back up a bit, the whole executive branch, as well as much of congress is exceptional. We have laws about pollution but people who don't enforce them. Intelligence is funded and (kinda) overseen legally but intelligence is conducted out of the sight of courts. And so on. It's a Giorgio Agamben Field Day of execptionalism. And so rich it smells just like bananas all over America.
That Druge graphic is a classic of web design, IMO.
