Hillary And Bill To Deliver Personal Video Reports Directly From Iowa
As noted here before, one of the more interesting sub-plots of Campaign 2008 is the extent to which the candidates are all trying to outdo each other with new and snazzy online video innovations.
Now Bill and Hillary have just come up with their next entry in this contest. The Clintons, who are campaigning in Iowa next week, are planning to deliver personal reports, on video, directly to viewers from the road in Iowa:
"Introducing HillCam," the vid says. "Spend a few minutes every day next week with the Clintons as they travel across Iowa. Totally unvarnished. Completely unprecedented."
Sure, why not? The more video, the merrier. The Sopranos thing was a surprise hit, and seemed to accomplish the campaign's obvious goal of humanizing her and Bill in keeping with the campaign's "you don't know the real Hillary" theme. If this latest does indeed come across as "totally unvarnished," as promised, it could prove equally effective.
This really is one strange campaign, isn't it?

8 to 5 they take a dog along and treat it real well.

Make that an Irish Setter who figures prominently in everything.
I'm going to laugh my ass off if there is a dog in these "unvarnished" videos.
This campaign season has certainly had some amusing moments so far.

it would be great if they joked along the lines of, "wasn't there a republican candidate who strapped a dog like this to the roof until it soiled the car"?

Yeah, a totally unrehearsed and unplanned offhand comment just tossed casually in there while they're playing with the adorable Irish Setter.
I'd pay them if they ever did that. Seriously.

"totally unvarnished"
ROFL.
No shame at all, these people. I don't just mean Clinton.

So is this the Hillary campaign or the Hillary and Bill campaign?

For the next two weeks, it's the Hill and Bill show -- campaigning together in the two key early states of Iowa and New Hampshire.
All I can say is that it must really suck to be a candidate trying to close a double-digit deficit to Hillary Clinton. Not only does she solidify her lead in every debate, but now you've got to try and get your message out against an onslaught of Bubba coverage.

a labrador retriever -- a manly dog that shows Hillary's not afraid to shoot game animals if she has to.

And all I can say is that the Clinton name has close to 100% name recognition and that's what the polls are about right now. Take a look sometime at polls for Obama and Edwards in the categories "never heard of" or "heard or but have no opinion". Clinton has zero room to grow in the polls. That's simply not true for Obama or Edwards.
We'll see what happens when the campaign really starts rolling and that won't be until the fall. Too bad the Clinton plan of being the early and only frontrunner was derailed. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out.

Wanna bet we won't see her strapping any dogs to the top of her election tour bus?
Enjoy.
Mom always said I was special and I believed her.

...strap him to the roof in a cage? As to your question re: is it a Hillary and Bill campaign... Hillbilly campaign?
