Gingrich Speaking Fee Bankrupts College Republican Club
It can now be said that Newt Gingrich has officially destroyed the Republican Party — on one college campus, at least.
The Associated Press reports that the College Republican chapter at the University of Vermont at Burlington has been decertified due to its inability to repay a loan from the student government. The expenditure that necessitated said loan and thus drove them to financial oblivion?
A speaking fee for a visit by Newt Gingrich in October of 2005.
It hasn't been disclosed just how high Newt's fee was, but apparently it was high enough to help put this little Republican club out of business. Here's hoping they at least got a good speech out of him.

Apparently, alumni started the club six years ago. I think it's a pretty good indication of how conservatism has faired under Bush.

Remember the story about a man whose car broke down on the side of the road and he needed a ride into town.
The first car stops and say’s are you Republican or Democrat? The man replies Democrat, the car speeds away throwing dust in the man’s face.
Second car stops, driver asks, Republican or Democrat? The man again replies Democrat, and again dust in his face and obscenities.
Third car stops and a really beautiful woman driver asks, Republican or Democrat? The man thinks about the last two cars, and replies Republican.
The beautiful woman, says get in.
After a few miles the man say’s, stop the car, STOP the car, let me out. The beautiful woman perplexed say’s why?
The man responds, I’ve been a Republican for about 5 minutes, and I already want to Sckew you.
