Hillary Reels In More Kerry Fundraisers; Enlists Reid's Son As Nevada Chair

Hillary Clinton has just reeled in a handful of John Kerry's top fundraisers, including several key members of Kerry's 2004 Presidential campaign team, today's Boston Globe reports:

Backing Clinton over her Democratic presidential rivals are Steve Grossman, a Newton businessman and a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee; Jonathan Patsavos, who was Kerry's New England finance director during his 2004 presidential campaign; as well as prominent Boston philanthropists Elaine Shuster, Barbara Lee, and Swanee Hunt.

Clinton has also signed up Anthony Buxton, who led Kerry's Maine fund-raising in 2004, and Mark Weiner, who chaired Kerry's Rhode Island fund-raising. In addition, Clinton's New England finance team will include Joseph Paolino Jr., a former mayor of Providence, and Bob Baldacci, the brother of Governor John Baldacci of Maine, according to the Clinton campaign.

The Hillary campaign also announced this morning that it had signed up Dem Senate leader Harry Reid's son, Rory Reid, as the chair of her Nevada operation. Reid, a former chair of the Nevada state Democratic Party, will also advise the Hillary campaign on western issues such as public lands and conservation issues.

I was contemplating the difference between Democratic operatives and Republican ones last week. It hit me that the Republican ones seem to have enough money that they are not dependent on the position for their actual living and direct future. (I said seem, as I sure it comes from the position). The party faithful also hire these operatives off-season or pay them to do other things for their corporations.

Democrats seem to not do this. Also some might think it compromising to accept or do this. I think it needs to be.

I also think if we see someone who need to move out for one reason or another they should be hired out to a great job.

This would keep the best party operatives doing what they do best when it is needed, not to be always scraping (or at least looking like it) for income all the time.

If Hillary gets the nomination, I have decided to vote for the Republican nominee, Romney, if he gets it. If Guiliani gets it, I will not vote for a President in '08.

I will also vote for every Democrat in the Senate and House to balance the WH having Romney as chief executive.

I was for decades a staunch Hillary supporter, but today I see no reason to have her in the WH vs. Romney.

The way she is basically posturing herself as the financial goliath vs all other democratic nominees has simply made me extremely cynical about her and her disingenuous votes on the AUMF, wiretapping, Patriot Act. Not to mention those gawd awful war mongering speeches she makes to AIPAC and the pro-Israel lobby that just sicken me to my stomach

In my heart, I beleive she is liable to go to war to prove how much testosterone runs through her veins. Life has demonstrated that men, in general, are often more discriminating about squeezing other's testicles, since they have understand the pain of such. Women feel no such compunction. Invariable this is why men find women to be viscious as opposed to powerful. That is what causes me great concern about the warhawk Hillary. Her focus on the general election and not her primary base is also why she is and posturing herself to be 'tough' on National security in the general election.

Hillary is not interested in this nation she is only looking to prove that women can wield power just as corruptively and scandalously as men. America does not need that. The very last thing we need after GW Bush is a women with his same texas swagger pontificating on how SHE is the decider.

One thing about Obama as the nominee, history has shown that African Americans have traditionally and consistently been the most fervent believers in our Constitution, civil liberties and justice under the law. African-Americans have been the moral compass of this nation when it has loss its way and veered from the fundamental beliefs set forth in the Bill of Rights.

African Americans do not believe in dying for nothing their history in this country is one of unbelievable fortitude and perservance inspite of incredible odds. I beleive Obama when he says that he opposes dumb wars not all wars. He understands that there are principles, rights and convictions worth fighting for, but fighting just to prove your genitals are bigger than the next guy is stupid.

Consequently I would feel far more comfortable voting for an African American who has something to prove, than a woman. Black people historically, have fought for the right to posess and demonstrate all that is right about America beliveing that the noble principles and ideals of truth, justice and liberty our democracy was founded on are not just words but that it is our right to have it.

Unfortunately, I also know that many Americans would rather allow our nation to go down in infamy having squandered our military might and freedoms due to fear mongering and global saber rattling than to vote for a black for President.

That will be America's loss and my children's future as well.

"Backing Clinton over her Democratic presidential rivals are Steve Grossman, a Newton businessman and a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee;

...Also, former President of AIPAC.

"...Grossman said he was resigning his position as chairman of the board at AIPAC, the pre-eminent Jewish lobby, because "AIPAC is a non-partisan organization with bipartisan leaders. It would not be appropriate for the chair of AIPAC to also serve as chair of a national party."

"One part of my life will always be dedicated to grass-roots activism in the Jewish community," Grossman said in a telephone interview Tuesday from his Boston-area office. "My commitment to strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship is unwavering."

Corporate America wants HRC to be the nominee. This will ensure a Publican President in 2008. If the people of this country allow that to happen I fear we're further gone than I suspected.
