Mitt Romney plans to file the necessary paperwork to launch his Presidential exploratory committee tomorrow, and may kick off his candidacy as early as next week, the Associated Press reports. Romney's campaign will be based out of Massachusetts, rather than his birth state of Michigan, because Boston allows him to stay closer to hime and gives him "easy access to political consultants in Washington and financial backers in New York," the AP claims. Although the date for his official announcement has yet to be determined, Romney's planning a major fundraising event on January 8th that could serve as an unofficial launching of his candidacy.
