Memo To Media: The Party In Disarray Over Iraq Is GOP

So here's our question of the day. Many in the media have been obsessing a great deal in the past few days about how Dems are allegedly in disunity as a result of their efforts to out-do one another over what to do about Iraq. Yet the party that seems in far greater disunity about Iraq is the GOP. Why is the media so obsessed with Dem disunity when it's obvious that the GOP is cracking to pieces over Iraq? Read all about this right here -- it's a development that's worth a look.

Why? The same reason they think John McCain is a maverick, or that Bush is popular, or....

The MSM have their work cut out for them.  In only two years they have to manufacture a Democratic Party that suits their interests.  That means a fractured, squabbling, treasonous, America hating party only interested in hating Bush.  Of course, in reality, the Democratic Party is well aware that Bush is a lame duck, will be out of office in 2 years, and will not run again for elected office.  So, hating Bush isn't on the agenda now.

Also, the Democratic Party does have razor thin majorities in Congress, but does not have a single administration spokesman, not a single appointive office in the administration, not one cabinet officer, and no means of imposing any policy on the country.  The job of President still belongs to the lame duck.  Only he gets to decide what to do in Iraq and how to do it.  So, expecting the Congress to institute some policy changes in regard to Iraq is a fantasy.  The most the Congress can do now it to express disapproval of the current policy.

But, all of that wont stop the MSM from fabricating a straw Democratic Party to attack for the next 2 years.  So, why be surprised?

Why would the Washington Post hire John Salomon? Or why in the wake of the fiasco in Iraq (the Iraqle), would they hire Michael Gerson, recently of the White House Iraq Group (aka the Lie Factory)?

I can only guess that Donald Graham sees the need for more right wingers while the country as a whole sees the need for less of them.
