Quote Of The Day: GOPer D'Amato Says "What's-His-Name Obama" Can't Beat Hillary

"You always have a flavor-of-the-month candidate — at one point it was Governor Warner of Virginia, now it’s what’s-his-name, Obama — but that’s not going to hold up to a campaign by Senator Clinton."

-- former Republican Senator Alfonse D'Amato, quoted in The New York Times while explaining why he thinks Republicans shouldn't underestimate Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the White House

Yeah, at least "what’s-his-name Obama" has real grassroots support and excitement for his candidacy.

The same can't be said of Hillary Clinton. She's going to buy her way through the primary process with all her millions. Not a bad thing in any sense. But truth be told, if Democratic activists are that reluctanct about her candidacy and are not enthused about her, what does this tell you about the way independent or Republican voters are going to react towards her?

And the biggest myth out there is that women voters or single women are going to flock to vote for Hillary. This is so further from the truth. For one thing, you can count on Hillary's candidacy to mobilize GOP women and activists like never before.
