Political Ad Bonanza! View Them All Here, From Cute To Vicious

Get ready for a political ad bonanza! Election Central has a whole bunch of new political ads here for your viewing pleasure — we have a dialogue between Jon Tester and Conrad Burns; Ned Lamont casting himself as Jimmy Stewart in his hopes to go to Washington; a fun ad from Joe Lieberman, and a new attack ad from Rick Santorum. Check them all out here, after the jump.

A new Conrad Burns ad implies support from Burns's Co-Senator, Dem Max Baucus:

And here's Tester's rebuttal, featuring Baucus himself:

Ned Lamont tries another quirky ad to jump-start his flagging campaign — casting himself in the Jimmy Stewart role for an ad entitled, "Mr. Lamont Goes To Washington."

And Joe Lieberman has a fun, offbeat ad of his own, making sure voters will be able to find his name on the ballot. The ending is reminiscent of Harry Truman's advice to people who want a friend in Washington — appropriate, given Lieberman's political headaches this year.

A Santorum ad attempts one last Hail-Mary play: a wounded Iraq veteran attacking Bob Casey for supposedly investing state funds into terrorism, a claim that hangs on the shaky rationale that Pennsylvania invests in funds that do business in countries where terrorism occurs.

Ooooo man. You're right that is one weird, spooky ad for Ned Lamont. Much as I love Bill Hillsman, I think he's really screwed up in this race. He's out-thinking himself, and has little to work with in a very stiff, uncomfortable, unconvincing, first-time candidate. Ned really does look like he's running for School Board or something.

The Tester ad with Baucus must be a stunner for Burns.

I think the weirdest Lamont ad is the one with the shrieking woman terrified of personal hygiene. But Lamont's head on Jimmy Stewart's tall body is visually disturbing, makes you want to blink your eyes a lot.

The dog ad is very cute--I would just LOVE to ruffle those poochie ears between my fingers. Who doesn't love a saggy-eyed houndog?

There's a lot of military in my family, the last ad is a very powerful one. I doubt it will sway the minds of enough voters to blunt Casey.

Funny. I liked the Lamont ad. Catches the spirit of the crusade.

But what do I know?

Best, Terry

Is it just me, or does Lieberman look a lot like the doggie in the ad?

Reminds me of Jon Stewart using his Droopy Dog voice for Lieberman on The Daily Show.

I don't think anyone else said it was weird except you.

I think Hillsman's ads have been really good. If it weren't such a weird race, with Schlesinger way underperforming, Lamont would win in a walk.

I think Lamont's ads fit him and his personality well, just like Wellstone's ads fit him well.

Looks like Lieberman is about to screw the pooch.

We received an interesting flyer from the Ohio Republican Party, the other day - a dramatic night photograph of the New York skyline with spotlights representing the missing towers with text that reads"

Two Important Dates in American History

September 11, 2001
And
November 7, 2006

And of course, we all know which one is more important to the Repubs...

Ben Cardin's current anti-Steele ad is quite good, especially the accusation that Steele was using someone else's dog in one of his own (quite effective) ads.
