CA-04: Doolittle Mailing Has It All: Nazis, Child Rapists, Gay Boy Scouts...

This GOP mailing is pretty impressive: It's the first we've yet seen that manages to link a Dem to Nazis, child rapists and gay Boy Scouts all in one shot. It was sent out by GOP Rep. John Doolittle, who's facing an unexpectedly stiff challenge from Dem foe Charlie Brown:

The mailing attacks Brown for being a member of the ACLU -- and, yes, the cliche "card carrying" does make an appearance -- charging that the group has defended Nazis, groups that allegedly coach child molesters and even the rights of gay kids to join the Boy Scouts. View the rest of the mailer after the jump -- and don't miss the skinhead with a tatoo of a swastika on his neck.

As I've said before . . . this is the Big Lie. This is what happens when those people use 1984 as a blueprint, not a warning.

ACLU can probably claim copyright infringement.

He could have done worse.

At least Doolittle didn't call Charlie Brown a Republican.

Not many seem to want to admit to being that.

Boy - I can't wait until we Democrats take over and we can start holding our big gay recruiting benefits once again. Soon we'll all be Army hating Nazis not-under god with men marrying dogs and it will be oh so sweet. I can't wait! Remember how we used to be able to buy pot and cocaine at the post office back when the Democrats were in charge? Those were good times. And once we start letting all of the criminals out of jail and dismantling capitalism, the US will be a utopia!

I mean really. Isn't that what this bullshit ad is saying?

At least they could have gotten the ACLU card right. Mine looks nothing like the one they have in the mailer.

What is the next Civil Libery that the Repugs want to take away? Voting for Democrats or other political party.

Give them an inch and they will take a mile. And the next thing we find out is that we have George W. Bush, King for Life.

Thank you for posting this typically despicable Doolittle ad. It reminded me to donate to the ACLU.

But I will have to contact them about getting a cool shiny ACLU photo-id. Mine's just a little piece of paper that I proudly carry in my wallet, a little worn with age.

Interesting that the ACLU-card mockup uses the actual ACLU logo, which sports a Statue of Liberty.

And yet they somehow got confused when it came to the "Which Would You Defend?" photo lineup and accidently pasted in a skinhead with swastika tatoo. Whoops-a-daisy! How did that happen?

In fairness, however, they did give Charlie a nice French manicure to go with his precariously thin, clean-shaven wrist.

I don't think it was the American Nazi Party that wanted to march in the streets of Skokie. The leaflet refers to Wikipedia, but mistakenly so. It was "members of the National Socialist Party of America (an offshoot of the American Nazi Party) [that] attempted to march through Skokie", tells the Wikipedia page of Skokie.

American Nazi Party changed its name to National Socialist White People's Party (NSWPP) in 1967. Frank Collin left the National Socialist White People's Party in 1970 and founded Chicago-based National Socialist Party of America. This group was involved in the Skokie incident.
