PA-07: Weldon Being Probed Over Fat Lobbying Contracts For Daughter

The already-tight race between GOP Rep. Curt Weldon and Dem challenger Joe Sestak just got a heck of a lot tighter. McClatchy Newspapers is reporting that the Justice Department is probing whether Weldon traded political influence in exchange for lucrative lobbying contracts for his daughter. TPMmuckraker's Paul Kiel provides much needed context and backstory here.

Actually Sestak seems slightly ahead already and gaining daily. The number of Sestak signs in this very Repub area (although it voted Dem for Pres last four elections) is awesome. Sestak is very very impressive.

About time! These allegations have only been out there for what, 2.5 years?

This couldn't be happening to a nicer guy. Weldon is delusional.

Not sure the race is "tight" anymore. Looks like it might be a blowout for the Dem.
Weldon may end up with a federal term of a few years though. In the big house, not the Capitol.
