OH-SEN: AP: Soldier In Mike DeWine Ad Is Real

So the Associated Press has picked up our story about the soldier who appeared in an ad for GOP Senator Mike DeWine. And AP moved the ball a bit by confirming that the soldier is real. As Election Central first reported yesterday, the Army is reviewing the ad to determine whether the appearance of someone in uniform violated Defense Department regs barring uniformed military personnel from appearing in partisan contexts. The AP's pickup says: "DeWine spokesman Brian Seitchik declined to give information about the soldier, except that he is a real soldier, not an actor. He said the appearance did not violate military regulations." That's for the Army to determine in their review, however. Stay tuned.

I'm enjoying having my very own GOP website very much.

I'm holding a GOP house party on Election Day! The beau, a lifelong Democrat, just switched to Republican so he could vote in Repubican primaries. I am sure he won't mind [very much] that I am hosting my GOP party at his house. The idea is to use your free cellphone minutes to call and urge voters to get and vote.

I admit I was surprised to learn the Republican Party does permit criticism of Republican candidates, albeit indirectly, in its blog. I posted about my Sunlight Foundation earmark research in response to a criticism of Charlie Rangel in the GOP blog.

The link to the Sunlight Foundation is still there and when you hit it, it opens to my comment about the big right wingers falling down on the job. Down the page a bit are some of my other, somewhat negative comments about Republicans.

I haven't been able to change my GOP greeting as of yet. I did upload two photos for my GOP website but they haven't been so far today.

The first photo is of Mark Foley with six interns, five men and one woman that I captioned "Happy Days".

The second photo is actually a map of the North of the Russian Federation with Soviet nuclear test sites marked.

Personally, I don't the Russians have any business testing nuclear weapons north of the Arctic Circle.

All of the maps I found of the North of the Russian Federation on the Anspira website are fascinating! Not only do they show where the people indigenous to the region live, they show airports where there are no towns, oil and gas fields and all sort of things.

I am curious as to whether the sites marked with airplanes where there are no towns nearby represent where the Russians keep their nuclear weapons. (Tip: Enlarge the map images to be able to read the labels.)

From what I have read, the indigenous peoples of the North of the Russian Federation can use all of the help they can get. The indigenous peoples are not getting their fair share of Russian oil revenue, for one, yet their land is beig ruined by oil companies who do not have to adhere to environmental safety regulations.

I have so many comments to make about these maps, I think I might do a blog entry about them. I mentioned them once before in the TPM Cafe but I was a little nervous about doing so then. Not anymore!

I don't know why the Daily Kosters are not all signing up for their very own GOP wbsites instead of yakking to each other all day. If you ask me, the Kosters are wasting a lot of time and energy preaching to the converted and should get out more often.

Imagine lots of Kosters hosting GOP house parties or if they don't want to hold a house party, they could attend them. I requested an invitation to one on Long Island. If I am invited, I am going for sure. I've never been to a GOP function.

Update: I just checked my very own GOP website and my photo of Mark Foley was not posted but the map of the North of the Russian federation captioned "Soviet Nuclear Test Sites" was posted.

I wonder what the GOP photo screener thinks of me.

This photo thing is turning out to be a lot of fun.

Too bad Josh doesn't have a "Favorite Photos" gallery here in the TPM Cafe. I bet I could post my Mark Foley w/interns captioned "Happy Days" if he had one.

We could do the Russian maps w/captions large enough to read, too.

BTW, if anyone here in the TPM Cafe wants to help me out, sign up as volunteer or a member of my GOP team at my very own GOP website.

Of course, any and all members of the TPM Cafe are welcome to come to my Election Day GOP house party in Levittown NY.

I'm in Rep. Peter King's district so I should probably let the folks at his office know what I am up to these days. Maybe I can convince Pter King to kick in a few bucks for coffee and doughnuts. No lattes permitted!
