Did Kolbe Tell GOP Leadership About Foley?
Today's Washington Post reports that GOP Rep Jim Kolbe knew of Mark Foley's page problem as early as six years ago:
A spokeswoman for Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.) confirmed yesterday that a former page showed the congressman Internet messages that had made the youth feel uncomfortable with the direction Foley (R-Fla.) was taking their e-mail relationship...The revelation pushes back by at least five years the date when a member of Congress has acknowledged learning of Foley's behavior with former pages.
Next question: Did Kolbe ever tell the GOP leadership about Foley? The Post piece doesn't address this question. Kolbe had six years to do it.

Frankly, Scarlet, neither I nor the American voter gives a damn. See, here.

I can't quite tell what level of irony Ellen intends. If she's dead serious, all I can say is that anecdotal accounts from a non-random sample of attendees at a Christian rock concert are pretty poor as an indicator.
Anyone who thinks the electorate -- and evangelicals in particular -- can't or won't be bothered to care about the House leadership's actions (including any warnings Kolbe may have given about Foley) is in for a very rude surprise a month hence.
