CT-04: Experts: Shays Cracking Under Pressure
Two political experts are claiming that GOP Rep. Chris Shays -- who's committed a series of eye-popping gaffes of late -- is cracking under the pressure of Dem Diane Farrell's tough challenge. The experts, Connecticut politics professors Gary Rose and John Orman, are quoted in an article in the Connecticut Post today speculating on the root causes of Shays' missteps. Rose: "The intensity of the campaign is starting to wear on him. It is a side of Congressman Shays that is new to the people of the district." Orman: "It is out of character for him, but maybe he felt Farrell is moving ahead and the pressure got to him for a moment." Shays' most recent misstep was to refer to what happened at Abu Ghraib as a "sex ring."

This is what happens when you do not listen to your mother. Shays mother told him to STFU about Iraq, long ago, and he wouldn't. These are his just desserts, and he is getting no consolation from is momma, which is why he is cracking up. Dumbshyt, should've listened to his momma and he would not be having all these issues. What an idiot, I bet his momma read him the riotact about that 'sexring' comment.
Oust Shays. He does not deserve to be in Congress any longer. People who do not listen to their mother are not to be trusted.
Elect Farrell.

He probably buckled under the pressure of the Republican leadership in Congress and voted to get along, rather than his conscience. Now, he'll pay the price. He used to be one that I thought should be brought into the Democratic party as a refugee from the right-wing party that the Republicans have become. Now, he should just be set adrift.

As I wrote back in August, Chris was a maverick in the General Assembly - otherwise known as a loose cannon. Now that he is not in control, that trait is showing through to the voters.
