John Sarbanes, a lawyer and the son of retiring Sen. Paul Sarbanes, has won the Democratic primary in Maryland's third district, beating former health official Peter Beilenson 32%-25%. Sarbanes is heavily favored to beat the winner of the GOP primary, which is as yet undecided between nonprofit president John White and physician Gary Applebaum. More results here.
