IN-02: Whoops! Chocola's Tax Attacks Come Back To Bite Him

A few weeks back Rep. Chris Chocola slammed Dem candidate Joe Donnelly over Donnelly's late payments on property taxes in the past. Chocola's even made the charge in a TV ad. It turns out, though, that's there a little problem: Chocola has done it, too. Today's Michigan City News-Dispatch reports that Chocola's former company was late making a similar tax payment in 1998.

These sorts of things are petty and I don't normally think they discredit a candidate. But it gets under my skin that some people place different standards on others than themselves. Chocola had to have known he was susceptible to the charge but didn't seem to care.

Isn't that RI-Sen poll from 8/31 backwards? I had been reading that Laffey was leading.

There were two separate polls. One that shows Laffey up big. The other, a GOP poll, has Chafee up by as much as he was behind.
