CT-05: Johnson's New Ad Juxtaposes Dem Murphy's Face With Image Of Terrorist Training Camp
Recently we reported that embattled GOP Rep. Nancy Johnson's recent ad attacking Dem Chris Murphy as weak on terror had been proclaimed the worst ad "ever" by a Connecticut paper. But the paper's criticism hasn't chastened Johnson: She's just released another ad which goes much further in painting Murphy as a coddler of terrorists. The Empire Zone reports that the new ad juxtaposes Murphy's face with an image of a terrorist training camp, insinuates that Murphy opposes wiretapping terrorists, and concludes: "Maybe Murphy is confused over who the enemy is. But Nancy Johnson isn’t -- not for one second." Johnson is, however, confused about Murphy's positions: Murphy supports the current law, which allows 72 hours of wiretapping before a warrant is obtained.

There was a time when she was considered a moderate republican. The GOP promised a negative campaign. Here it is. Just shows what fear of losing the majority can do.

There is a chance that shenanigans such as those embraced by Rep. Johnson will so incense the electorate that the forecasts of the most optimistic liberal pundits will be deemed as defeatist once the electorate votes. This could still be a tsunami.
