NY-20: Poll: Sweeney Trouncing Gillibrand

Incumbent GOP Rep. John Sweeney has a nearly 20-point lead over Dem challenger Kirsten Gillibrand, a new poll shows. The Siena Research Institute's new survey says Sweeney is leading Gillibrand 53%-34%, with Sweeney enjoying a nearly two-to-one favorability rating while Gillibrand remains unknown to more than half the voters.

Not really much of suprise.

I used to live in the Upper Catksills and Dems are in extremely rare supply there and north and west of there. The tri-city area of Albany, Schenectady and Troy is a strong enclave of Republicanism. Unless you relocate about a GAZILLION Dems to the region it's going to be mighty difficult to begin to make a change in that regional political arena. Dems are simply outnumbered and that is not going to change quickly.
