GA-04: McKinney Back From The Dead?
Cynthia McKinney suffered a crushing defeat to Hank Johnson in a primary runoff a few weeks back, but oddly enough, her campaign Web site lives on, and posts have continued at a steady pace since her loss. An essay posted just this morning by a backer, for instance, blasts her opponents -- particularly those in the black community -- as "self-proclaimed `progressives,' who see no evil and hide from their own cowardice." That's some pretty tough talk. Looks like McKinney, who hasn't let losing deter her before -- after losing in 2002, she returned in 2004 to take back her seat -- might attempt yet another comeback from the dead. If you really want to read more of her supporters' rantings, go after the jump.

The deafening silence of black "leaders" throughout metro Atlanta is matched by the expected silence of the Democratic Party and self-proclaimed "progressives", who "see no evil" and hide from their own cowardice. Few of them have taken a stand against the verbal assault and whipping of a black woman who had the courage to speak honestly and forcefully about issues and principles that they claim to strongly believe in, but lack the courage to articulate themselves. The courage of McKinney to speak truth to power and stand in opposition to the maniacal machinations of the Bush Administration is exactly the "crime" she is guilty of.
With all her education and commitment to her constituents, principles, and the American people, she is being showered with disrespect and racist slurs while house negroes, liberals, and progressives stand around like deer caught in the headlights. In spite of living with death threats most of her political career for her outspoken courage, she is being ushered out by an outrageous display of American racism that is being chronicled by nations all over the world.
