CT-SEN: Times Botches Fact In Hacking Story
The Times has just posted a long piece about the alleged hack attack on Joe Lieberman's campaign web site, and the paper has botched a key fact. The Times wrote: "Aides fulminated over the collapse of their campaign Web site, which they blamed on unnamed “political opponents.” (Emphasis added.)
Actually, the Lieberman campaign today has repeatedly tied the attacks to Lamont. Lieberman adviser Dan Gerstein, while speaking about Lamont, told TPM muckraker: "Their supporters are doing these [attacks], we've demanded they get them to stop and they refuse to do it." And Lieberman aide Sean Smith today said: "If Ned Lamont has a backbone in his body, he will call on these people to cease and desist." "So yes, they tied the attacks directly to the Lamont camp.
I feel your outrage.

I've forwarded screen captures of comments by Lamontsters from TPM who bemoaned the newly registered democrats for the primary and the potential higher voter turnouts on because I have to wonder if they decided to screw with the voting machines as well as the Lieberman campaign site.

What you don't get is that you are not a majority, and never will be. You will only help prolong the war in Iraq, just as the Naderites helped impose the Iraq war.

The Lieberman campaign has an ultra cheap web site provider, which was probably overrun by activity, causing it to crash. The latest I have heard is that Lieberman's campaign manager has finally admitted that he has no evidence at all that anyone associated with Lamont's campaign is behind the crash of the website. This, after loudly blaming the Lamont campaign all day, and getting the press coverage such a claim would deserve. Joe is showing his Republican roots!

Of course the webhost has an incentive as well to blame the crash on the Lamont camp: Couldn't have been our bargain-basement hosting-service, must have some really wily and nasty hackers.

No, it's not the cheap 15 dollar site that Kos claims in that propaganda post. Here is the true hosting service Lieberman uses.. I should have figured that Josh Marshall has no more interest in checking his sources than Anne Coulter does.. anyone can find thihs stuff out at any domain registry whois... as Curly of the 3 Stooges would say, what a bunch of moroons!

Apparently Kos or someone at his blog has opined and/or discovered that the Lieberman campaign was looking for an issue to justify an "independent" run against Lamont. Now it's believed they have a cause celebre, whether by design or not one can only surmise. (I'm a little vague about this because it comes from a second or third hand source! Treat this as an ignoble rumor!)
Maybe Liebmonster fans from the teensy neighboring state poured in and helped on this rumored ruse? Naw, that's an ignoble rumor too.

Here's something interesting, I just attempted to inform the Kos bloggers of the disinfo being posted there about Lieberman's hosting service.. and then McJoan, one of Kos's Nazi's deleted the post containing the registry whois information. I guess they don't like dissent from their propaganda line.

This is incorrect, and Joe does use the site host named on Kos and pays "a bit more" than $20, as he told Paul Kiel. See the many other posts in Election Central or on TPM Muckraker for more info.
