This is the best commentary I have read on Lieberman's defeat.

But what is coming next? Aye, there's the rub.

The blogosphere is going to be blindsided much as the folks in Washington. The clearest symptom of the backwards thinking is the superstitious dread of a fine old word: "liberal."

Many of the heroes and heroines of the "progressives" are the ultimate conservatives; e.g. the Clintons.

I have been a registered Democrat longer than most prominent bloggers have been alive. I have been censored by these same folk for "bashing Democrats."

Consider that the clear wonderful truth embodied in a single sentence about Lieberman's defeat was that the "DLC was crunched." Yet the very founder of the DLC is the idol of most "progressive" bloggers.

There are some things that don't figure so well I think.
