WFSB

With 84% of precincts reporting (625 of 748)
Lamont 52%
Lieberman 48%

user-pic

Uh, ahem, Greg, do you really consider Drudge a reliable source? On anything?

user-pic

With 123 precincts yet to report, and a difference of roughly 1,800 votes you want to take Drudge's word as gospel? Drudge? But I guess like attracts like, or should I say liar attracts liar?

Connecticut // U.S. Senate - - Dem Primary 625 of 748 Precincts Reporting - 83.56% Lamont, Ned 120,616 51.88% **Winner Lieberman, Joe (i) 111,887 48.12%

user-pic

Face it, Mr. Lieberman is done.

user-pic

I guess as he does, the question I ask you is should you consider Greg a reliable source? A man who repeats lies, who doesn't care about the facts or even to check a source??? If you do then you are no better than those who listen to Anne Coulter or Sean Hannity.. please be better than that.

user-pic

i certainly wouldn't take drudge's word for anything, but shouldn't you at least get your arithmetic right if you're going to comment on the gap? 120.6K - 111.8K = 8.8K, not 1.8K.

user-pic

I have no control over the voters of CT, I can only watch what ends up being the result, the question you should be answering is why is it the votes from 123 districts don't rate as important to you? Is it that voter rights aren't important enough to matter now to the power mad neo-left?

user-pic

Whoa whoa whoa!

WFSB's percentage just went from 84% to 81% (625 down to 608 precincts). What's up with that?

And reportedly there are statements in 10 minutes?

And where the heck is Hartford?

user-pic

It's 8,727 votes, sorry. I didn't use my calculator. :) Still, there are 123 districts left to report in. I don't know what site, if any would have a break down of which districts have yet to report in.. so I can't guess on what the population sizes of those districts amount to.. are they urban areas or more rural.

Nevertheless, as liberals (or perhaps I'm being to generous assuming?) who spoke out against the denial of voter rights, not counting ballots that we should wait until the final numbers are included in the total. And frankly, Matt Drudge isn't interested in helping democrats period... he's a crumb..

user-pic

Brian Lehrer has new numbers:

93% reporting

52 - 48 Lamont

user-pic

What network are you watching, I'm flipping back and forth between cable network news as I type.

user-pic

WTNH has got the same old 52/48 with 92% reporting.

user-pic

Thank goodness, Hartford is finally in:

Hartford 23 of 23 reporting
JL=4,184 - 48.40%
NL=4,460 - 51.60%

Relieved,

I calculated Lamont needed to get 134802 votes to win an hour and a half ago using crude estimates and it looks like Neddy will get that much.

user-pic

What's left are smaller municipalities.

That's the ballgame.

user-pic

Now, Mary. Of all the crappy names you've called all of us in here, the BEST you can do on Drudge is "crumb"???

I'm sorry, but I'm gonna require at LEAST a "fucking asshole" from you on that one.

Maybe "fascist fucking asshole."

What are you talking about??

My point is that Lieberman is quite clearly going to finish with less votes at this time. So yes, the votes do matter.

user-pic

Yes, just 6 towns now:

Branford (where's My Left Nutmeg?)
Enfield
Guilford
Haddam
South Windsor
Wallingford

OK.

user-pic

You're right cscs, both you and drudge are fascist fucking assholes. I'll add racist to that as well. But then I've held that opinion of you for more than a year now.

With 713 precincts reporting, Lamont is up by 10,270. There are 35 precincts left, or around 14,000 votes.

Lieberman needs about 12,000 of these to win.

user-pic

Lieberman's conceding now on CNN.

WTNH reports as of 10:59:
Precincts Reporting: 713 of 757 - 94%
Candidate Incumbent Votes Vote %
Joe Lieberman X 128,566 48%
Ned Lamont 138,836 52%

Lieberman would have to overcome a 10,000+ vote margin in the 44 remaining precincts.
Seems unlikely to say the least.

user-pic

And, dailykos just went down:

DailyKos is undergoing some maintenance right now.
It'll be back up just as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience.

Clearly, the work of Lieberman.

Joe Lieberman is a decent human being and a class act. I can't vote for him as an independent, and honestly I didn't contribute to his primary campaign, but I will send a donation to his independent run. Decent people have to stand up to fascistic attempts to derail elections, who use dirty tricks and racist propaganda to smear good people. Whether they're of the right wing or neo-left wing variety, those tactics are deplorable and anti-democratic.

If you want to save the democratic party and help us win this fall to take back the congress and the whitehouse in '08, then you will do the same.

user-pic

Not that it matters at all, but it's the Liebermans and Clintons that usually identify as "neo"-liberal . . . and yes, they are power mad.

user-pic

The big question now is will Lieberman go 'I' and run in Nov, or will party pressure force him to drop out. I suspect the margin is small enough to give him cover.

He just said in the concession speech that the independent run starts tomorrow.

If he'd fought as hard in 2000 against Bush/Cheney as he says he's going to against Lamont, maybe he'd be Vice-President now.

user-pic

It's his idea of having a laugh about Lieberman's site being taken down. He's mocking the very real wrong of of a DOS attack and the very real censorship that the DOS attack constituted.

Over the past few years, Markos has mocked women, labor unions and most recently Jews. He's a hate monger.. but so are you cscs.

user-pic

heh heh.

I was going to feel sorry or the guy, but what a jerk. Have you ever heard a less gracious concession since Richard Nixon?

user-pic

He said just now that he was running and planning on winning in the Fall.

user-pic

I've never heard him speak for so long a time, and I never want to hear him speak again.

user-pic

Hopefully, Joe will do what is best for his party and his country, and bow out.

Democracy won!

Hooray for the anti-incumbant fever, I hope this fever spreads throughout the country. If Joe Lieberman can be defeated, they all can, and we can get some real change going.

He confirmed it in his consession speech (CNN). "Team Lieberman."

He'll maybe want to get a better website.

Maybe.

There was no DOS attack.

And, actually, I'm not really a hate monger. I'm more a Jew mocker.

user-pic

Let me see if I have this right: the way to help the Democratic party take back the Congress is to send a check to Joe Lieberman--now that he has said he will be running as an independent?

I have to admit the logic of that line of thinking escapes me.

Mary, this guy has accepted the funding and platform of this party, has been the Veep candidate, and has had major party figures come out and campaign for him, despite his having spent the last several years undermining his own party and attacking his fellow Dems.

And now he's announced his intent to disregard the will of his party as expressed by voters through the primary process.

And you call that class?

How much does he pay?

user-pic

OK, down to 1:

Haddam

Where are the Haddam numbers?

Boy, glad I didn't wait up last night for 100% resolution!
Sheila in CT

Well, you can watch for them to finally show up here: Hartford Courant - Vote by County page

And I can't wait to see the electoral map all colored in now...

user-pic

"I" is perfect for the Senator.

user-pic

All right, Haddam numbers are in now.

That's it, the whole shebang!

PS> Keep an eye on the Connecticut Local Politics blog for a pretty color-coded electoral map... I hope soon!
