FL-SEN: Katherine Harris: The Continuing Saga

The race for Florida Senate is not at all close, as Sen. Bill Nelson (D) has a commanding lead over Rep. Katherine Harris (R).

That said, Harris continues to captivate us. After much hesitation, several TPM contributors finally relented and related their favorite Harris stories. Then the Midterm Roundup went meta-meta on us, voicing its desire to resist voicing its desire to resist Harris stories.

All of which means it’s time to get back to basics. No hand-wringing, no accompanying clown photos, no apologies for covering a candidate who even the state’s Republican governor says has no chance to win. Just Harris. Enter the Tampa Tribune’s Harris Report, which has everything a Harris junkie needs.

A headline that reads, “The Continuing Saga.” A timeline of her post-recount career. The latest stories, including the accusation against Nelson that already has backfired.

And finally, there’s the sobering news, announced Friday, that Harris will undergo surgery on July 17 for the removal of an ovarian mass. Rep. Harris, your devoted followers wish you a speedy recovery.
