CT-SEN: Will Lieberman Rule Out Accepting GOP Line?
Yesterday we brought you word that some Republicans in Connecticut think it would be a good idea to offer their line to Joe Lieberman if he loses the Dem primary to Ned Lamont and if current GOP candidate Alan Schlesinger can be given the push.
This is of course a pretty far-fetched scenario. But then again, everything about this race has been far-fetched.
So today Election Central has just posed a simple question to the Lieberman campaign:
Will Lieberman or will he not rule out running on the GOP line if he loses to Lamont in August and it's offered to him?
This is fairly straightforward: Yes, or no? Which is it?
The question has been posed to Lieberman campaign deputy press secretary Noah Kores, and the campaign is mulling it.
Election Central will let you know when -- or if -- we get an answer. Don't touch that dial.

Why should Lieberman rule out running on the GOP line in the general election? Simply because he purports to be a Democrat? Pshaw! Only a far-left candidate like Ned Lamont would rule out running as a republican.

Actually, Holy Joe should have always been running on the GOP ticket, same as Zell Miller. He's an embarrassment to the Dem party.

The campaign is mulling it?
They're MULLING IT?
That the answer wasn't an immediate and uncategorical NO says it all.

Joe looks like a republican already, if you've been reading his blog. Hehe.

The Democratic party does not really seem to reflect his beliefs any more. So why shouldn't he leave?
Answer: Because he'll lose, and all of the Democratic "neutrals" who currently have remained silent on his independent bid will turn against him with a vengeance, as will every single pro-choice and union group that has endorsed him. (At the very least, it's a chance to reconsider their positions, shall we say).
And well they should.

This entry is the subject of some debate ever since it was FPed over at dKos. I was wondering if you could clarify:
In what manner was Kores contacted? Email? Phone? Voicemail?
Were you actually told "he's mulling it," or is that just an inference based on the fact that your email/voicemail hasn't been returned?
Thanks,

Joe's a Democrat? Really? Well anyway, he and Zell will have lots of time to sit around and discuss irrelevancy after November......

Greg, could you please clarify:
When you say, "The question has been posed to Lieberman campaign deputy press secretary Noah Kores, and the campaign is mulling it", does that mean you actually REACHED Noah Kores and he said the campaign is mulling it?
Some commenters at dKos are suggesting this is simply a case of you sending an email and not getting a reply back. Could you please confirm that you did hear back from the campaign and they couldn't provide you with an immediate answer?
...aka "Maura in CT", now back in the Nutmeg State...
