MD-SEN: Candidate Embraces Anti-Corruption Rhetoric

“Everyday, the same thing. Another day’s news, another scandal in Washington,” the new web ad begins. “We’ve got Congressmen on the take and lobbyists eager to make a deal. The whole system’s broken and they’ve lost all respect for things important to us.”

An ad for moveon.org? The DCCC?

Nope. Republican Maryland Senate candidate Michael Steele. Maryland’s current lt. gov. unveiled the ad today that calls for zero tolerance for gift giving by lobbyists and elimination of “last-minute amendments for pork-barrel spending.”

The one line that indicates that Steele is in fact a Republican: he says something is “wrong in BOTH parties.”
