KY-06: Chandler Lobs a Blog-Block Law Bomb!

Now TPMMuckraker’s Justin Rood reports that Representative Ben Chandler (D) of Kentucky’s 6th district has come out against the Kentucky state government’s blog ban, calling it “a violation of the equal protection clause of the Constitution.”

Must be some bittersweet vindication for Chandler, who ran for governor and was defeated by Ernie Fletcher in 2003, before assuming his House seat.

Mark Nickolas, the blogger who runs the blocked BluegrassReport.org, is Chandler’s former campaign manager.

I wonder what Representative Geoff Davis (R) has to say about all this. Davis, running in a tight race for reelection in Kentucky’s 4th district, has bragged of his support of Governor Fletcher in the past. He’s probably better off keeping mum these days.
